A Caring Creator

"Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation (care) hath preserved my spirit” - Job 10:12.

Job’s experience of God, reminds me of His attributes: OMNIPOTENCE, OMNISCIENCE and OMNIPRESENCE.

There are many circumstances in our lives that we know nothing about, where God has been working with and for us in guidance, protection and care. This, both in the spiritual as well as the physical areas of our lives.

James reminds us that “every good and perfect gift cometh down from above from the father of lights with whom there is no variableness” - James 1:17.

Someone has remarked that God’s dealings with us are PERFECT, not necessarily PLEASANT!

But in all the variegated experiences of life the One who created us for His pleasure and redeemed us for His glory “is working in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure” - Philippians 2:13.

OMNIPOTENCE speaks of Authority.

OMNISCIENCE speaks of Knowledge.

OMNIPRESENCE speaks of Comfort.

Authority, Knowledge and Comfort; what infinite and all embracing resources! Overarching it all, of course is LOVE. The LOVE of God.

‘Could we with ink the ocean fill,

And were the skies of parchment made;

Were every blade of grass a quill,

And every man a scribe by trade;

To write the love of God above,

Would drain the ocean dry;

Nor could the scroll contain the whole

Though stretched from sky to sky’.

Some dear soul had discovered the secret of serenity and peace. Scrawling these precious words on the wall of his prison cell. Yes this is a God who has invested all that He is and Has in us, mere mortals, but destined for immortality. We do not know what lies ahead on our pathway to Heaven, but the care that our God lavishes on us is the deposit for what is yet to be.

John, the apocalyptic seer has revealed in that coming day of bliss:

“His servants shall serve him ETERNALLY,

They shall see his face LITERALLY,

His name shall be on their foreheads" - IDENTITY (Revelation 22:3-4).

All this puts into context Job’s words about CARE and PRESERVATION!
